The I-86 Corridor extends between Elmira and Hornell and has the highest concentration of advanced manufacturing and transportation equipment manufacturing companies in the Southern Tier Region. The Corridor is home to major corporations such as Corning Incorporated, DeMet’s Candies, Dresser-Rand/Siemens, Hilliard Corporation, F. M. & Company, Anchor Glass, Emhart Glass, Hardinge, World Kitchen, Synthes, and more.

The I-86 Corridor also is home to three of the leading rail design and manufacturing companies in the world, including Alstom Transportation, Inc. in Hornell and Bombardier in Kanona.
