In close proximity to the southeastern border of Steuben County, the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, located in Big Flats, New York, is served by several national airline carriers. The Greater Rochester International Airport, one of the major airports serving the western New York region, is approximately 70 miles from Hornell and 100 miles from Corning.

 


 

Highway

The improved highway system throughout Steuben County provides access, reduces transportation costs, enhances safety and increases capacity for conducting business.

  • I-86 – Corridor links the cities of Binghamton, Elmira, Corning, Hornell, Olean, and Jamestown in New York State.I 86
    • I-86 (West) – Reaches Erie, Pennsylvania where it connects with I-90, the New York State Thruway
    • I-86 (East) – Offers easy access to New York City and several major New England cities.
  • I-99 – Newly upgraded designation for US-15, the main North-South route in Pennsylvania.Northeast Markets
  • I-86/I-99 – Scheduled for completion and designation in 2015, this corridor will improve connections with other regional metropolitan areas in New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada.
  • I-390 –Progresses North-South from Avoca in Steuben County to Rochester and Lake Ontario in Monroe County.
